Researchers develop AI tool to predict resignation risk

An AI tool created in Japan can apparently predict which employees are likely to leave their jobs.

Developed through a collaboration between Professor Naruhiko Shiratori of Tokyo City University and a local startup, this innovative solution analyses employee data sets, from attendance records to personal demographics like age and gender. 

Its primary aim is to empower managers in reducing attrition rates by predicting potential resignations.

Furthermore, the AI tool analyses data of employees who have quit before and those on extended leaves, constructing a turnover model tailored to a particular organisation. 

When provided with data on new recruits, the AI tool predicts the risk of quitting in percentage points. Shiratori, a media education expert, mentioned that they are currently testing the AI tool with several companies, fine tuning a model for each one.
